Still if you suspend your disbelief there is enough thrill to be had … and a message that even if you didn’t like the movie is one you can support. I can see from the voting here, that many may not have rooted for anyone. But this is a thriller with horror elements and it is about survival … which one you’ll be rooting for is up to you. Rhinos getting killed – which may not be any different than other animals getting slaughtered too. Casting and performances were decent and convincing. There certainly were some scary jumps and well done gore scenes. The directing was great, as was the cinematography, and although the story was interesting and unique, it still had some plot and technical issues and could’ve used some tweaking. The 101 runtime felt long for the story, but the pacing was decent enough, and the suspense picks up in the last half, that time flies by. Some of the dialogue was cringe and sappy, but overall this is a good one-time watch, even if just for the beautiful African landscapes and culture.
